Let’s make this clear: hygge and lagom aren’t design trends, they are a way of life. Unless you were hiding under a rock last year, you’ve probably encountered hygge. It’s the Danish lifestyle concept that doesn’t really have a single translation. It celebrates life’s simple pleasures, such as family, happiness and cosiness. Lagom, on the other hand, is a Swedish word which loosely translates as ‘just the right amount’. It encourages balance in all things, from interior design to relationships.
