Chic Scandinavian Interior
A favourite look of ours (and yours going by the number of repins on our We Love Scandi Pinterest board) is the cool and timeless look of the Scandinavian interior. It's an intriguing mix of old, new and distressed.
It's also a simple look that is calming and captivates the senses. The look is clean, bright and lived in. Distressed furniture will add charm and soft, tactile blankets and cushions that look a little worn will ensure the space looks comfortable and loved.
To get the Scandinavian look, choose a colour palette that consists predominantly of white, off whites, soft dove grey and soothing, soft pastel tones. Some colour can be introduced by adding throws and textiles with decorative Scandinavian style prints. Walls, scary, but paint them bright white and flooring, again, white. If that's a bit much, an off white will work just as well. Good lighting, an abundance of lamps and warm bulbs will help to create a wonderful atmosphere. Remember, it's the brightness of these spaces that help lift the mood of the long, dark winters in Sweden.
